Saturday night Sarah and I traveled to Chicago (I will again state that I hate Chicago, only for it's traffic and parking rates). Otherwise, I love Chicago. Keith Urban (awesome), the Dixie Chicks (awesome), and the Eagles (pretty good), are touring together and stopped at Soldier Field. It was a great concert! Oh, and we got to sing Happy Birthday to Nicole Kidman.

Lately our phones have become Evan's. Last night he walked into our bedroom where I was relaxing and Wrigley was playing with a toy. He pointed Eric's phone at me and said "Say cheese!" This was the end result:

Sunday evening the Zimmerman's and Cagle's came over for a grill-out and, as it turned out, a very entertaining game of baseball. Luckily the rain stopped and the kids were able to get outside and show off their skills. (Check out Evan's new haircut!)

mt. olympus / wisconsin dells.

At the last minute we drove up to the dells on Saturday morning. It was a little chilly, so we spent most of our time at the indoor park at Mt. Olypmus.

verona hometown days.

We had a busy weekend full of fun summer activities. Friday night we went to a local festival - which would have been great on its own, but to make it even better, Evan got to hang out with Bennett. The two did a coin dig, played a fishing game, rode a car, and ate some brats.

We celebrated Laura's graduation this past weekend and the weather did not cooperate. IT POURED. But we made the most of it, and I must say that Evan loved splashing in the puddles with Max. Next year Laura will be attending UW-Madison, which is great news! She can still babysit :)

We had a fun weekend full of play, work, and sleep. So, it was pretty typical. Friday evening we went to Fitchburg days where Evan got to ride the train, and better yet, pull the whistle. Man, did he love it. We then headed to a park to meet Grandma, Grandpa, Barb and Jim for a small concert. The rest of the weekend was spent mostly outdoors by trying to stay cool at the neighbors various water park stations.

We ended Mother's Day by meeting everyone at Michael's Frozen Custard for free sundaes. Evan sat at the kids table and ate his teddy grahams, as he's not a huge fan of ice cream (yet!)

I had a very nice Mother's Day. We went to Aunt Barb & Unlce Jim's for a lovely brunch where Evan had a blast playing Bocce ball. We were grateful for the weather, which was a huge improvement on Saturdays cold, windy gray day. I am so very lucky to be Evan's mom!

Uncle Brady, look! Evan LOVES the baggo game you made for us!

Yesterday Evan and I went to watch my cousin Laura perform in her church play. Well, Evan watched about 3 minutes of it and then wanted to play in the nursery. Oh well. The little kids were too cute!

Getting ready to squat 85 pounds. What a show-off.

This past weekend we continued with the current theme for the blog: sports. The Badger football team had their spring practice and before there was a kids fest with players from all sports (pictured are John Clay and Keaton Nankevil) and tons of activities for the kids.

Wednesday we headed to Milwaukee to watch the Brewers face the Rockies. It was a close game, although we only saw about 2 innings. Evan wanted to mostly hang out in the kiddie area and go down the slide about 20 times. He also was having trouble grasping that Bernie the Brewer only went down his slide if there was a home run :) We're looking forward to going back in the summer with friends and tailgating, in true Wisconsin style!

Eric had a few days off from work this week and took the opportunity to head to La Crosse to visit his family. He's going to be busy the next few months with lifeguarding classes, so it was nice for him and Evan to get back home for a quick visit.

We had a nice, quiet Easter. Most of our relatives were out of town for spring break, so we went to church and then to my parents for dinner. Evan had so much fun with the easter egg hunt at grandma and grandpa's house we had to do it twice :)

The day before Easter we went to Michael's craft store to make an Easter egg basket. In the car, however, it became a hat.
