thanksgiving 2010.

Bowling, great food, and everyone under one roof. Just a typical Donahue Thanksgiving! It was a nice day.

Evan has had a rough week. It started with a seizure that resulted in many tests and an overnight at the hospital, and is now on medication to control any further seizures. We go back in a month for another EEG to check his brain activity and to take any other measures. But he was a trooper at the hospital, and thank goodness for grandma's help. Here they are playing with cars while waiting for test results.

To keep with the holiday spirit, last weekend we went to an arts & crafts store so Evan could decorate a stocking. All went well until he dumped an entire jar of glitter on his stocking, which he was not happy about (the problem was quickly solved and he forgot all about it :)

"No pictures, please."

play-doh.

Evan's new favorite hobby. And yes, those are Christmas decorations in the background. I know it's early, but we were bored one night and decided to bring everything up from the basement. Evan got really into this year...he loves the lights, stockings, and especially the Christmas tree and all the ornaments. I love this time of year!

We celebrated cousin Jackson's birthday on Sunday and guess who showed up to wish him Happy Birthday...BUCKY! The kids flipped out, as did most of the adults. Bucky signed autographs, took pictures, and even played football on the front lawn with the kids. Evan was in heaven - it was all he talked about the rest of the day.

We had a fantastic trip to Florida a few weeks back. Eric had to work, but Evan, my mom, Aunt Anne, Aunt Sue, cousin Tracy and Max and myself spent a week in St. Pete and a day trip to Orlando and the Disney area. The weather was great, beaches were beautiful and Evan could not have behaved better. He was soooo good. We really had a great time. Highlights included the Florida Aquarium, Downtown Disney, and dinner with the Stolpers. Thanks to my parents for buying such a fantastic condo on the beach! I hope for many family trips in the future to sunny St. Pete.

Every week when Eric drops Evan off at daycare, he asks him to give Judy the weekly check. This morning when Eric gave it to him, Evan asked him what it was. Eric simply replied that it just needed to go to Judy, and Evan said "Is it a big coupon?" I guess I taught him well :) He'll be clipping coupons with me in no time.

Evan's first dental appointment. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if we'd get him in the chair. But he completely surprised me and made me so proud! He did everything Neil asked him to...counted his teeth and even let him clean a few of them. Dr. Busby checked everything out and said his teeth look good. I told Evan a few times during the day how proud I was of him. Then, at dinner, Eric asked Evan to thank me for making dinner and to give me a hug. As he was hugging me, he says "I'm proud of you, Mama." He's growing up so fast :)

Westmorland Halloween Parade

Our favorite neighborhood had their Halloween parade/party yesterday. To say that Evan enjoyed checking out all the costumes would be a huge understatement. He commented (or screamed with joy) on just about every costume. After the parade everyone enjoyed a juggling show, treats, and was able to pick out prize.

Getting ready for Halloween!
(a.k.a. eric loves his phone and all the free apps he finds)

Check out this rad marble “race” my dad made for Evan - it’s practically taller than the little guy! He loves it. It has tons of options and comes with a built-in xylophone at the bottom for the marble to fall down. Thanks Grandpa!

It was Homecoming week for Bucky vs. Minnesota, so needless to say Madison was rockin' this past weekend. Add to that the great weather we've been having and that we love to beat up on the Gophers. Friday night Eric and I both had to to work, so my Mom, Dad, and Aunt Mary took Evan downtown for the Homecoming parade, which gets crazy. At one point some college girls dressed in lingerie passed by and Evan "somewhat" looks them up and down and says "Nice dress!" My parents just about died laughing.
