Evan's first dental appointment. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if we'd get him in the chair. But he completely surprised me and made me so proud! He did everything Neil asked him to...counted his teeth and even let him clean a few of them. Dr. Busby checked everything out and said his teeth look good. I told Evan a few times during the day how proud I was of him. Then, at dinner, Eric asked Evan to thank me for making dinner and to give me a hug. As he was hugging me, he says "I'm proud of you, Mama." He's growing up so fast :)

Westmorland Halloween Parade

Our favorite neighborhood had their Halloween parade/party yesterday. To say that Evan enjoyed checking out all the costumes would be a huge understatement. He commented (or screamed with joy) on just about every costume. After the parade everyone enjoyed a juggling show, treats, and was able to pick out prize.

Getting ready for Halloween!

Check out this rad marble “race” my dad made for Evan - it’s practically taller than the little guy! He loves it. It has tons of options and comes with a built-in xylophone at the bottom for the marble to fall down. Thanks Grandpa!

It was Homecoming week for Bucky vs. Minnesota, so needless to say Madison was rockin' this past weekend. Add to that the great weather we've been having and that we love to beat up on the Gophers. Friday night Eric and I both had to to work, so my Mom, Dad, and Aunt Mary took Evan downtown for the Homecoming parade, which gets crazy. At one point some college girls dressed in lingerie passed by and Evan "somewhat" looks them up and down and says "Nice dress!" My parents just about died laughing.

We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon with Aunt Barb & Unlce Jim at an apple orchard and taking at boat tour of the Wisconsin River. Here are a few pictures of the apple orchard (take special notice of the goat picture - it was taken right after Evan said "Hi goats, I'm Evan" :)

Sunday, on the way home from the Dells, we stopped in Sauk City at a gorgeous lake house for our neighbor's birthday party. Evan was excited and thankful that Hayden was turning 4 and invited us to the party :) The theme was pirates and it was so much fun to watch Evan have so much fun. The kids were led on a treasure hunt around the outside of the house and ended at a "real" treasure chest with a "real" pirate (Hayden's uncle). Evan was all about talking to and chasing the pirate. He also loved the treasure map and kept opening it to check it out and show it to us. We were cracking up.

Over the long weekend we had a lot of family fun and spent much of the weekend in the Dells. Saturday we went with the Cagle's on a boat tour of the Wisconsin River, had lunch in downtown Wisconsin Dells, and then the boys went mini-golfing.

Apparently, Evan likes the new carpet in his room so much that he just had to take a nap on it :) We've somewhat been struggling with naptime...there are days when he just won't take one. Yesterday I went in to check on him and found this:

Ride the Drive.

I've said it before, but there are times I love my part-time radio job. Sunday I was able to get somewhat "backstage" access to Lance Armstrong at the Ride the Drive event in downtown Madison. My Aunt Joni and Uncle Steve are huge Armstrong fans, so I asked them if they wanted me to try and get an autograph. I managed to get a Tour de France hat signed for them and it made my day. But, boy, was it hot. I had to work all day and it was a struggle at times, but I'm very glad I did it. Not everyday I get to hang out with a 7-time Tour de France winner!

Evan had his 3-year check-up last week and mostly it was confirmed what we already know - he's a big kid! He weighed in at 37 lbs. (91st percentile) and is 40.5 inches tall (96th percentile). He didn't have to have any shots, which was nice for both of us. We return in a few weeks for a follow-up on his allergies. Here's to hoping for good news!

Evan is THREE! He was really excited for his party and we got lucky with great weather and the company of wonderful family and friends. We set up a few tents and all our outdoor games for the kids to play with. Huge thanks to my mom for all the help with the set-up and Aunt Kate for making the Toy Story cake & cupcakes.

I can't believe my little boy is 3! He is such a good little guy, and hopefully it continues as we learn more and more about his "blossoming" personality :)
